Team Division Policy
Hydras operates three teams, Elementary, Middle School and High School:
Elementary. Players should be no younger than 8 and no older than 11 years of age as of January 1st of the calendar year in which they participate in order to be eligible for the Elementary Team. Exceptions to this can be made with the approval of the Team Manager and Elementary Coach.
Middle School. Players should be no younger than 11 and no older than 14 years of age as of January 1st of the calendar year in which they participate in order to be eligible for the Middle School Team. Younger and older players may join the team with the approval of the Team Manager and Middle School Coach.
High School. Players must be no older than 19 as of January 1st of the calendar year in which they wish to participate in order to be eligible for the High School team. Additionally, players wishing to join for the Fall High School competitive season should meet one of the following qualifications:
Minimum age of 14 by August 31st prior to the start of the season
Minimum age of 13 by August 31st prior to the start of the season AND approval from the coach of the High School team. Additionally these players:
Should commit to playing on the Middle School team for the Winter competitive season following the High School season unless they have approval from the Team Manager.
Understand that coaches will be giving play time priority during games to Players in (3)(a) above.
Understand that they may only be allowed to play in one division in tournaments and competitions where Hydras has multiple teams. The decision as to which team or teams the player will play for will be made by the Coaches of the Middle and High School teams.
Players joining Hydras for the Fall Competitive High School Season are encouraged to join the High School team for Spring practice prior to the fall season regardless of age.
